This is my first attempt treating Gigantea using Cipro. Based on my research, treatment should vary between 3-5 days. Last night was the first treatment. Below are the details/results as of this afternoon.

It still spits out "rat poop". Base on the timeline/pics, should I cease or continue treatment? Please kindly advise, thank you.

You should continue to treat for at least 7 days

Thank you for the quick response, Minh. I will continue treatment.

I've read various threads and I'm a bit confused regarding the "new" water. When changing water, please kindly advise/confirm if I should use the new water that I've made or should I use the DT water? Also, should I do a complete water change (10gallons) or only 5 gallons.

My tank water is great so I take water from my DT to change the HT water and add new water to my DT. These day I change 100% of the water daily plus 100% whenever the anemone deflates and add med each time I change water

My problem is that a 100% water change in my 10 gallon HT amounts to a 50% water change in my current DT, which may be a bit harsh on my corals.

Would a 50% water change in the HT be enough if the water values are good, or do the medications byproducts have to be completely removed?

I think it is best to do 100% water change. You may have to use new salt water. I would age the water for at least 24 hrs before use it to change water.

I can use natural seawater from the pacific. One of the LFS' here sells it. But I still prefer to put the new water into my tank and use the replaced tank water for the HT.

as long as you aged the water, 50% daily water change would/should cause no problem with the DT. I would make sure that the new water is not lowe in temp, or higher in salinity than the DT
