Cirrhilbraus Claire

Wrasse junkie
It has been brought to my attention that the impossible to apprehend c. Claire from cook island will be making its way into the aquarium trade via blue harbor and koji wada. According to collector his fish was collected at 450ft. Deep and is the 1st to enter the trade I believe. No photos exist besides the holo type. I was seriously considering shelling out serious coin but couldnt bring myself to do it. Can't wait for photos I hope someone posts this pair! Only 1 pair was collected.

There is something to be said about a suttle bit of purple and yellow. I can't wait to see more pics or videos. What an amazing pair.Yes he caught them. What an amazing man kudos to him

I still think they look amazing! I can't even imagine what these would look like displaying. I can't wait for a video or something, chances are after this fish is sold, well
Never see it again...

I love some wrasses, but I honestly was unimpressed by the photos. So many better looking, obtainable and unobtainable, wrasses out there.

Guys just the fact of point of collection, depth of colleceoon(450ft.) the fact that someone needed to risk their lives at depths that necronesis and the bends claim divers lives is amazing and makes this fish alluring all to itself. I love wrasses and this one is no different I guess to each is own, but I'd imagine most will be regretting these words after we see a neputle male flashing.

seriously...you're due for an intervention! I'm worried about you!
If you disregard the 'point of collection' and the 'rarity' of that wrasse...solely BASED on that 1 picture...I've seen nicer Lubbocks!

My friend Randy Olsen, Owner of a LFS here in SLC was one of the divers with Rufus on this trip to Tahiti. They started putting together this trip about 6 weeks ago in hopes of catching a few Peppermint angels. There were five of them, and just happened to stumble upon the Narcosis angels. And as a matter of fact, they almost left the wrasses back in Tahiti and weren't going to ship them, they were going to let them go. They had no idea what species they had. They ended up catching a very small juvenile peppermint angel, but it did not make it to Oahu alive. Kogi met them there at The Waikiki aquarium when they landed and took the fish on concignment from Rufus and the others.
This morning when I saw the article on Reef Builders, I called Randy and told him they had collected a very rare pair of fairy wrasses. He laughed and said, " and to think, we almost left them behind" He told me they collected them at a depth of around 350ft. Once they caught the rare fish, they had built a storage bin and Randy had a chiller shipped over there and kept the fish at a temp of 68 degrees.
They brought back 6 of the Narcosis angels .
