clam tank side table

thanks, im really intrigued and the wheels in my head are already spinning trying to figure out how to do something like this for myself

here ya go j - sorry it took so long

each side has a 24" T5

the back has two 36" T5s - one on the back and one on the lid, positioned so it is right next to the one on the back when the lid is down

the 175 SE reeflux is in a modified reflector front/center - good thing there isnt much flow and the fish dont splash - the bulb is 1" from the water.

when the lid is closed, the wood frame hides all of the lighting and i put in a vertical piece of black acrylic that around the viewing window to block out the reflection on the water surface. my son loves to watch the lionfish and the clams :)

thanks - his pic is back on the 1st page. also have a marine beta, sailfin tank (will eventually go to the 240 when he gets bigger) and a 6-line in there.

just a mag 7. at almost no head pressure, that should be about 500 gph or 10X turnover. the key is the overflow is one entire end of the tank so there is a very thin sheet of water going back to the main system - no surface agitation, but no skim buildup either. also, i have the supply line split with a "T" and close to the bottom of the tank (with an anti-siphon hole near the water surface).

the pictures do the tank no justice, when ever i go over to his house you can't help but get mesmerized by it. by the way ace, how is the betta adjusting to the tank.

the sailfin picked at his tail a bit at first, but it is all healed up now. he does come out and demand food in the evening just like you said he would :)

they were at the "eye catching corals" booth. i also brought back some very sweet austrailian acans from his booth.

forgot to include this in the other post, i was having an issue with some hair algae in the clam tank but not the rest of the system, so i decided to add a couple of powerheads to provide a little more flow. worked like a charm :)
