still got all the clams? :) how bout an updated fts for the fans :D

actually, i lost the two biggest within one week of one another. the orange derasa and the bright teal crocea. not sure why, they just didnt open one day and the next they were gone. searched for pyramid snails, but found none. that was when the hair algae was pretty bad, so maybe the water was too still for them. that has been a couple of months now and everything else is looking great. ill try to get a new shot tomorrow when all the lights are on.

with two clams gone..........get yourself a blue squammie and black and white maxima!!!! Those two additions would be killler!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice and creative tank you have.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress hobogato. I am sorry to hear of the clams that didn't make it :(

I know of the perfect clam at one of my LFS that would look beautiful under there. its a 6" blue green and black maxima. I can't afford it but someday I would like to have a coffee table clam tank for sure. Always loved this project, always looking forward to updates!

finally got around to taking some updated pics of the clam tank

unfortunately, i lost all of my clams to perkinsus. i left the tank for over six months without clams, and now i am starting to add them again.

So far I have two large T. squamosa â€"œ one is about 7” and the other is about 11”

hadnt added any clams in a long time when someone gave me a derasa that they didnt want - one by one over a month or so my clams went away :( did lots of reading and that is my best guess.

2 squammies right now. would like to get a derasa, crocea and a couple of maxes - just looking for unusual ones and waiting until i can afford em :)

I love your tank. I have a 20L clam tank myself. The black sand really brings the colors out. Sorry to hear about your losses. I had something similar happen to me last year. I lost 6 clams in a week. I now quarantine all new clams for at least a month.

Little huh? Well I guess compared to its 11" buddy, but 7" is still a good size clam IMO.

Sorry bout the loss. Hopefully you find some nice wild looking ones to take pictures of to show us :)

where did u get your gigas looking for one about that size and color. God I love your clams put me in your will. lol any ways nice clams

Wow-what a great setup. Hopefully you can find healthy clams that are just as cool as the ones you had. Have you ever seen the ORA pink clams- the one I saw was quite bright-I think they are maximas too?

one of the clams i lost was an ORA derasa - very colorful.

the gigas i had was an aquacultured one that i got at a lfs a long time ago. they are definitely hard to find now.
