i'm new to this board and just wanted to say hi
also i have a question about a clam what type of clam would i be able to keep in a 55 gal 219 watt

Hi!

You'd be best off with a Crocea clam to start methinks. They are a good beginner clam and can looka mazing.

What type of lighting do you have, wattage doesn't tell us much.

You should be fine then with any of the tridacnids, I recommend starting off with a derasa though. They are the hardyest. And read up on those 2 sticky's. I highly recommend buying one or both of the books in the genral info sticky.

Also you should know that a giga's, derasa, or squamosa clam will outgrow your tank. Especially the giga's

Yeah Gigas i dont think should even be in the hobby. Just my opinion though.

Derasa and Squamosa's are very nice and i have found both to be super hardy
