I tried 2 ephippium, thought it was going well.... ended very badly very quickly. Hope you have better luck with yours Overall, I've had zero success truly pairing butterflies....

Great video, I love your fish selection. I am planning on BF and angel fish list. I decided not to pair based on your comment here. Without pairs, it will allow me a few extra species.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to dissuade you from pairs... so long as you either get them collected that way, or pair some from a group of 5 or more...

Thanks Ed. Kevin Kohen sent me a dusky with an extremely healthy appetite. I was very impressed at how many PE mysis it ate 24 hours after arriving! It eats all sorts of food now... but no pellets yet.

They are just labeled venus clams at the local grocery store. Yeah, these are a bit smaller than what I usually buy. They range in size from 1-2 inches, sometimes larger. Occasionally they'll get 4"+ ones... they look and smell the same as the small ones, and the fish like them equally. But I prefer smaller ones so I can add several to the tank at once, so the fish aren't fighting over a single clam. I use them as a treat for the fish... none of my fish need them to survive... they all eat other foods too. I think my fish get more expensive foods than I do...

I did try to pick angels with the butterflies in mind. I tried to get smaller less aggressive species, and/or ones that grow notoriously slow. So I ended up with a meredithi, navarchus, rock beauty, and asfur. I really wanted a yellow belly regal angel, but after loosing a prized pellet eating specimen to jumping, I went through 3 more... all with disastrous results, so I'm done on that front I don't think I'll be getting any other angels for this tank.

haha...I heard that when I turned my head away for a second, had to replay it like 5 times, with my jaw on the floor each time...a really beautiful collection...has me seriously thinkin about bf....

Lol......too funny. It's amazing how strong their beaks are.

I hear that chomping noise everyday and have taken it for granted. I'm not sure any other BF's can do that.
