Cleaning socks

What is the easiest way to clean filter socks? I rinsed them and put them inside out in the dishwasher with a cap full of bleach. When I took them out they were still dirty so I had to rinse the heck out of them until they were clean. How are you guys doing it? May need to put together a group buy for these if anybody is interested.

chris- i have about 20 socks that i rotate, when i do wash them i use bleach in the laundry. your dishwasher wont get rid of the crud. i wash one cycle inside out and then another right side in with a good rinse. the important thing is to make sure they air dry long enough so all the bleach evaporates. and if its sunny out that always helps.

+1 treesmoker, I do the same thing, but use vinager instead. That way you don't have that nagging voice in the back of your mind asking if you dried all the bleach out of them. Same result too.

Same here, throw them in the front loader with a cup of bleach, punch the HOT button, and the EXTRA RINSE cycle button and let it fly. Then leave them out to air dry for 24 hours. They come out nice and clean, and I do not turn them inside out, I am using the ones with the built in ring, so I cannot really do that.
I do however run a rinse cycle prior to throwing them in just to get any leftover detergent, and or fabric softener out.

For some reason I always thought the dishwasher. When I took them out they were still all crudded up. I'll try the washing machine. A cup of bleach you say? Seems like a lot of bleach.

i think they mean a cap full, i wouldn't use a cup.....

I don't think a cap full would do much of anything
I do use a cup, :fun5: like I said, with the Extra Rinse Cycle button on.
If I did not have that, I would most likely run it a second time with nothing in the water.
