click sound

i hear a click sound sometimes,just one at a time maybe two,not loud,no smashed shells no missing fish or inverts,have cleaners,coral banded,clean up crew and horseshoe,have some empty snail shells??but only hear clicking sound once lick one click,then hours or day later a click??any ideas,mantis??

Could one of three things in your tank. One it could be a matis. Second could be a pistol shrimp. And thirdly could just be your hermits shells hitting the glass when moving around. Hopefully someone else in hear could possibly give you a better idea. Hope this little bit helps.

could also be a heater clicking on/off. or a fish snapping at air. I wouldnt worry about it unless you actually see a concrete reason for worry. I assume clean up crew includes hermits and snails? One reason i dont bother with hermits anymore is that a lot of them are aggressive and go after snails for their shells. even if perfectly suitable empty shells are strewn around the tank.
