Clowfish tank size and breeding

I want to breed Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish and i want to know should i put them in thier own tank or keep them in my main 90 gallon tank and Is thier any other important thing to breed clown fish?

I would just leave them in the main tank, once you know where they lay the eggs it isnt hard to put a tile or something in its place to collect the eggs.

As for breeding them and raising the fry i would start by reading alot of threads in the breeding forum and get the book clownfishes by joyce wilkerson

I am not kidding when I say... buy a book.

Read the book... and then try raising live food. Once you have mastered raising live food, the rest is relatively simple, though extremely labor-intensive.

depends on the type of clowns. could range from 10-20 gal all the way to 50 gal

Don't think an Evolve8 would work? Too small? It's more like 6 gallons of living space for fish.

You need to feed the pair a lot of food. For Ocellaris, minimal 30 gal full reef with waste handling capacity, or a part of the system where the system would handle the waste. Living space of 10 gal should be fine but the system should be large enough to handle the waste.
They will need optimal water condition or else you will not have good fry.

I have a 120g reef tank, with 50g sump. So I could cycle water from the big tank into the smaller on a regular basis, since I plan to have them right next to each other.

They need to be comfortable. Changing water ever 2-3 days or even every week will stress them and keep them from feeling comfortable.
If you can plump the water from your system to the clown, that would be much better.

I tried my hand at it and end up with more than 1000 babies. It took me 2 years to get rid of them. I saturated the market here in Corpus really bad. Have to truck them to Houston, San Antonio and Austin to sell.
Don't be greedy. Cull them early and keep only 50-100 of the best one. TYhis number is manageable (at least to me). If you don't really take very good care of them way from the very beginning, you will not have nice clowns.
