So my clownfish is chewing on one of the tenticals of my BTA . When he does that part of the anemone will shrink up and will expand right after the clown stops chewing or biting it

Is this normal behavior or is this werid?

Iv been told that they are checking the nem to see if Its up to par so they can lay eggs. Iv just took a green bubble from a customers tank because she was chewing it like a Rottweiler. Replaced it with a green carpet in the tank and the female maroon started chewing again but not as aggressive. Later that day she stopped and now I hosting no worries
