clown fish bumping into tank like a psycho

I bought a set of 3 clay pots plus a tray for 3$ at Dollar store, placed one in tank at a sorta 45 degree angled towards the front so I can see what they are up to.
As well, I fenced it off for a day and a night with white plastic mesh so that they "have" to notice it and hopefully host it. (with them in the spot with the pot.) I also kept the tank dark for the first day.
I have now "caught them" "snooping around the pot" sometimes and a few times, one of them in it...maybe they like it??
In any case , with the sides covered in plastic mesh, and the pot in there, they are no longer banging into glass like psychos..... and seem happier.....?
I will post some pics later today....

Great! I will post some pics of mine when I get home too. My clown is actively eating shrip, pellets, and flake now. Hope it works out for you too!

Here is a pic of my fish, Sushi and Sashimi, NOT going into their plant pot...
Also a pic of the plastic mesh I put on the sides so that they stop whacking their poor wee heads against the glass . It worked. I bought it at the dollar store and covered the tank sides. They now swim around "normally", I guess...
they are no longer Psycho anyhow... IMO.

My clowns wouldn't eat their marine or spirulina pellets, just spit them out.
I took dried marine fish food, plus flake, the pellets and dried blood worms and ground it all up really fine with a mortar and pestle, .Now I give them a pinch of that mix 3 times a day. they pig out on it.
Sushi and Sashimi are 2 spoilt fish.

Never mind, I see you said it's in the treatment tank. And I see the picture. Is the orientation of the pot important? Looks like you have yours somewhat vertically.

I have used pots before in my breeding systems and even in my display tank after my anemone decided to go on a walkabout and never settled down again.

I usually put them on the side like in this picture because it gives me a better view on what they are up to.

The fish also seem to prefer it this way since they can always see what is going on outside. They will accept upright pots but be a bit more nervous when peeking over the edge.
All my ocellaris and percula have accepted the pots and even laid eggs on their inside.

I know that it isn't the nicest look in a tank but I find it still better than a homeless gang of clowns making everyone else nervous.
And if you plan to breed with your clowns it is pretty much the best solution out there.

I think you bought a way too fancy pot that hasn't straight flaring sides. The simple and cheap inner ceramic pots are better because they appear more like the funnel shape of an anemone's column.

Thanks for the input. I will replace those ones... They were just super cheap 3$ for 3 .. I'll use them for growing basil instead....and buy the clowns some "regular " ceramic pots to host in.
