clownfish/anenome tank

If you have a sand bed, you don't need to have a skimmer, as long as you change your water regularly and don't overfeed you rank and don't overstock. In a 29 g, you may want to keep only 3 or 4 small fish. With a pair of clowns, you can keep one or two more fish only.
I have a 24 g tank with sand and a refugium and LR. I am having a Carpet and Orchid dottyback and a Shrimp Goby. I will add two clowns, most likely Black Saddle back clowns or a nice pair of Clarkii. I change 5 g of water weekly (maybe less). My nitrate is always not detectable, and no nuisance algae. I feed my fish once a day, and expect my nitrate to continue to be 0 even when I add the two clowns.

ok that sounds good orionN i think i will do that then
29 gallon tank
150/250 watt halide
4 maxijet 1200's(covered up good)
35 pounds of live rock
40 pounds of sand
eco-systems 60 refugium with rubble and macro algae

5 gallon water changes weekly

Use a 150 W MH. The 250 may heat up your water too much.
One maybe two Maxijet is all you need in a 29 g. Four may be too much. Consider using a 900 Maxijet instead of the 1200.
You will need a heater to keep temperature to about 80 degree when the light is out and a fan to cool the water to 80 degree when the light is on. I use a 6 inche fan blow across the water when the light on and a 100 W titanium heater. My tank is a 24 g with 150 W MH.

ok can get a 150 by trading my 250 i have a heater already and the only thing waiting for me to set this tank up is money cause all my corals are going to the 10 gallon which im getting either 2x40 watt pc's for or a 96 watter so thats all im waiting for then ill get the anemones and another clown what kind of clowns should i get i already have a perc(pics) but i wouldnt mind getting rid of him for a more interesting clown i like onyx, skunks, clarkiis, tomatos a little and perc pairs

250 may work, just keep it higher and see how the temperature go. If you have an open top tank, fan will decrease temperature but increase evaporation. Spend a little more money to get accurate thermometer to track your temperature. If you have to add much water (1g/d) you may want some sort of automatic top off so that the water salinity does not change too much. Don't add any animal until you got the tank run stable.

my tank is pretty stable its full of zoas frags and random lps im not new to reefing but im pretty new to anemones so i dont mind switching the 250 for a 150(i have to pay for electricity) but thats if and only if it would be better for the nems! i want to get one of those thermometers that are digital to keep track of temp well
