Clownfish antics after lights-out

Just got two O. clowns from LA today and already they're killing me. We had the actinics on since we acclimated them so they could get used to things without bright lights. They were having a grand time leisurely checking the tank out. And then, as soon as the actinics went out and the moon lights came one, they're like the Joey Chitwood stunt show! Swim into the filter outflow and then body surf it so it blows you across the tank. Swim back into the outflow and do somersaults. Race up and down the front of the tank, down to the sand, up to the top, flips and circles all over the place. Run around the rock pile making spastic moves.
I wish I had a video camera!
Has anyone else seen the bedtime frantics or are my guys a little touched in the head??
It lasted about ten minutes and then back to normal.

Mine went u-tube surfing the first two nights. Since then they have been fine. I think it is part of the aclimation process.

If that's the case, I'll miss it. They were a trip!
Imagine if we could all have one hour a week to feel that euphoria they seem to be having!

why do you think they are called clown fish? :D they will settle in. once they do, after lights out, you should find them either on the bottom, in the bottom corner, etc., etc, together, side by side. unless you get an anemone, they will probably start hosting something. could be a powerhead, heater, anything. neat little fish!!!

also, you will see one of them going into what looks like a seizure. it's ok!! it's the male dancing for the femlale. enjoy!! :D :D

They're around 1 1/4" each, one slightly bigger than the other, so how long do you suppose it'll be before there's any submissive/dominance behavior? A couple days, weeks, months?
