Clownfish breathing at surface... Ick?

I recently moved over some live rock into my 28g nanocube from my 36g bowfront, which had ick. I let it sit for 5 weeks without any fish. I treated the surviving fish with cupramine for recommened time. I just put them back into the nanocube, and now my clowns are visiting the surface to breathe. Is this ick, or do I need to oxygenate better? (No ammonia, Nitrites, or Nitrates)

5 weeks is not sufficient to rid your tank of ich (12 weeks is better) so anything wet that moved from that tank to the current tank most likely brought it along with. Or at least there is a high risk of such. Fish near the overflow or near the surface could easily have parasites in their gills.

Alright, thanks. That's what I expected. I'll do it all over again. Any tips on catching firefish and blennies? Or should I just rip the tank apart again?

I had a similar problem and tried catching my dottyback and firefish. They were waaay too fast and way to smart (with rock in the tank) to get a net on. You will likely have to break it down.
