I am sure many of you guys have seen this, but I thought it would be cool to share. Here is two pictures of the same clown fish, however three years apart.

First picture is 3 years ago.
Second is today, The clownfish on top is the one I am talking about. There is so much more black! I did not realize the change till I looked back at my Build thread today.

Last few pictures are my older clown with the new one I added today. About 5 months ago one of my clowns died, and I finally decided to get another one today.

I would love for my new one too develop the black. I feel it is a very stunning look.

New clown is an ocellaris, old clown is a percula. Think my new guy will color up?

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for looking
-Matt

The Ocellaris will not develop the black coloration. Ocellaris developed early but Percula take 18-24 months to fully develop. Mature Percula looks a lot better than mature Ocellaris IMO

I personaly prefer ocellaris, as they seem to have a softer/cuter face, even if they tend to bite me. While the percula I've seen/worked with all seem to have that tougher look to their eyes. Ian be partial as I have a designer ocellaris in every suitable tank I have (three pairs) I have yet to pick up a Picasso perc, but I have Wyoming whites, snowflakes and black ice and phantom.

I love looking back at my Picasso's baby pictures. I've only had him for a year and he has a lot of black now. When I first got him he had none.
