Clownfish eggs.

My clownfish pair regularly spawn, depositing eggs in a crevice by their BTA. Guarded zealously, nevertheless, the eggs are all gone after about a week with no new clown babies. This has been going on in cycles for several months. Are these eggs viable? Will they are ever hatch and produce baby clowns?

You won't see any "babies". The fry will be eaten by your fish, corals, and/or sucked into the filtration.

Do the eggs ever turn silver in color? If so, they were viable and you just missed the hatching.

Thanks, Todd. Yeah, on the batch last week, most of the eggs looked silver. 2 days later, they were all gone. Oh, well. The clownfish pair keep trying, though. There will be another batch in a week or so.

Congrats! What kind of clownfish are they? They fry won't survive 1 day in your reef. You would have to collect them out of there and put them into a 10g tank and feed them rotifers if you want to try and keep them alive. Obviously there is more to it. If you are interested in trying it them just post your questions
