Clownfish took the plunge :(

With all of my worries about anthias and YWG in an open top tank, it turned out to be my clownfish that jumped :(

Are ocellaris clownfish known jumpers? Mine did like to swim in the upper range of the tank. I'd like to get another pair now that I'm clownless.

-Jay,
Just from my experience ,every tank Ive owned had Ocellaris clowns and Ive never had one jump.Far as I know,no reputation for jumping Ive heard of.I admit not having alot of experience with fish as many here have,Ive always stuck with certain ones so probably doesn't say alot.Just my experience.

FWIW, glad you got everything back ,good luck.

Found my black clown on the floor a few months ago all dusty. thought he was dead till i saw a little flinch. put him the tank and the female clown started cleaning him off. Now hes back to biting me every time i put my hand in the tank.

My female maroon clown jumped a month ago,I seen something flopping on the carpet, picked her up threw her back in..she is really healthy still lol

Oh wow J that stinks! I have 2 clowns also with an open top (Still) Im more worried about the over flows at this point with them because at night they are right up next to it but I do need to make it a point to get some egg crate again (although that didnt stop my blenny a few years back.
Sorry for your loss

awww, man...that sucks. You ever seen or heard of the musical, "A Little Night Music"? There's a song for you....

"send in the clowns...there ought to be clowns....":clown:

sometimes a little humor helps.....

I've lost my 2 females, the little male must do something to insult them! His third wife is doing fine, I bought a glass lid for the tank though, enough was enough. if they both sleep together on the top of the water in one corner, I would recommend just a plastic plate for that corner if you dont want to buy a lid, or eggcrate as shawna suggested.

The second time it happened I yelled the F bomb so loud the neighbors knocked on the door! :-o

Bummer, dude.

I've had a male end up as a potato chip from an overly "affectionate" female; jumped through eggcrate.

All of the clown breeding tanks at school have gutter guard ziptied to the eggcrate now. No more dried up fish if I can help it!

I had a pink skunk clown jump. couldn't understand why I only saw one in the tank. then I saw the mummified remains behind the stand. stinks either way
