i got my clown on last friday and ive been trying to get him to eat formula 2 cubes and he doesnt even look at them in fact he swims in the other direction so i broke it up in to smaller peices so he could eat ti buthe only takes a bite and goes away! what else can i get him?
it says that it s ment for clowns so whats the deal

Is it in quarentine? Clowns tend to be hardy and have good apetite, so if it is not eating, something must be wrong.
Is it showing any other signs? fast breathing / spots / etc ?

Get her used to eating prepared foods first. Chunks of frozen food are very unnatural and she just may not be recognizing it as food. Brine shrimp and mysis are usually good introductory foods, as is cyclopeeze. It's a rare clown that won't touch cyclopeeze!

when I aqcuired a wild caught pair of True Percs they wouldnt touch the flakes or pellets.

I bought some frozen baby brine shrim cubes turned up my powerheads and they went nuts!!!!

Good Luck

Turned the up as in "Faster Flow" it will make the brine fly everywhere immitating live brine shrimp.

ohh i tryed to feed him some freeze dried brine today and they hit him in the face and he showed no reaction so i tryed pellents and the same thing happened

what gives?

I dont think freeze dried brine are the same as the ones I get. I need to get you the brand name, they are soaked in nutrients and some slime, it helps finicky eaters to get eating. Smells really bad though.

If they are wild caught, they might show early signs of a bacterial infection which means you might have to treat them first. If they continue to look fine then try feeding them live baby brine shrimp or some other type of live food to entice them.

Hatch out some newly hatch brine shrimp or get some frozen cyclop-eeze.

This is a common occurance. It will take you clowns some time to settle in to their new home. Don't stress to much if they are not eating yet. Keep an eye on your clown to make sure he/she is healthy and not carrying any diseases. When you clown settles in it will start to regain it's appetite.

Oh and something I learned from experience keep the lights on al lil longer. It'll help regain their appetite. Dont keep them off though this might not be a good idea if the fish is really stressed!
