my little male saddleback has lately been kissing my larger female saddleback on its side quite often. has anyone ever seen this happen. it's pretty funny to watch he just swim up and lightly kiss her on the side and she just sit there and enjoys it.

ill try and get a pic if i can

How long have you had the clowns? Looks like the male is submitting to your female....maybe a spawning event is down the road.

well ive had the female for as long as ive had the tank which is between 8-9 months and she is a big bruiser at 5 inches. i got the little male, who is now about 2 1/2 inches, in april they have been fine ever since i added them and there hasn't even been any agression from then on. i was suprised how calm she was even the first night by letting him sleep snuggled up against her.

ya i just noticed this yesterday but she keeps moving the sand away until she gets to the bottom. also just this morning she keeps pushing her anemone back and biting at the rock?

The sand not so much, but the rock cleaning is. Doesn't necessarily mean they're going to lay right away, but at least she's thinking about it.

would more agression from her be a sign? usually she doesnt care that much when another fish goes by her anemone she could care less. now she chases them off when they come within 2 inches of it.

my true perc male kisses the female also and she to puts her tail in the sand and moves it away. she has all the sand cleared away and you can see the bottom of the tank. she really stirs up a sand storm when she does it

Yes it would be a sign.

I had a GSM that used to clear away the sand and pick up rocks 4x bigger than she was and move them four feet to the other side of the tank! But then she became a nuisance and started to chase the other fish and bite 'em, so I had to bring her back to the LFS. :(

i watched my buddies clown rip snails off the glass and carry them to the other side of the tank when they got to close to her nem..did it with hermits too..flip them over and scare them into the shells then carry them away..

LOL far too funny to watch..
