Clowns laid some eggs!

First for me.
Had these guys for over a year, laid a clutch of eggs the other day.
Cool to watch.
The male rarely leaves them.
The female swims around like normal but comes back often to "nuzzle" them.
Was really cool when the conch came over, they pushed him away and would not let him near.

Thought I reread my post for spelling errors... guess not.

Anyways, breeding clowns is something I'd like to experience at some point. I've had a breeding pair of freshwater orange swordtail mollies that was a pretty neat experience.

Very cool! Do you plan to raise any if the fry? And is it a regularity and a mocha ocellaris clown pair?

When I bought them, they were tiny and both looked like regular ocellaris.
Since then, the female has got alot darker, whereas the male still looks regular.
I'll try to take a decent picture of the female.
No plans to attempt to raise the fry, but my wife is not happy with that.
She wants me to try and raise them.
So, i'll see.

Female, quite dark.

Male, looks normal (female used to look like this)
Had to use a flash, he's in a dark corner guarding the eggs.

The coloration on the female is really nice. I'm gonna agree with the wife and think you should try to raise some. Lol

I'd also be interested in raising some of the fry if you ever decide to go that route. :)

I'm going to put a terracotta pot in there, hopefully they will lay the next batch on it.
Just can't remove the rock they've picked.

Clowns lay another batch? If so, any luck?

They are laying another batch tonight.
After researching, just not ready to commit the time and effort to attempt raising the fry.
The rotifers are a lot of work with the daily water change and harvesting.
