Clowns - super aggressive?!?!

I've had a pair of tank raised ocellaris for... about 6 months or so. In the past 2 months they have become very aggressive. They are in a 29g tank by themselves and have decided to host my candy cane . I've been bitten by the female several times (it doesn't hurt, but still surprises the heck out of me) and it's becoming irritating to the cc as well.

Anyone else experience this in ocellaris? Is this something I should have expected or did I get 'lucky'?

That's just clowns. I've got a pair of black and white ocellaris in a 10 gallon and they bite the heck out of me too.

i have a pair of the black clowns and they will nip at my hands every time i go in the tank! i have 2 other pairs in the same tank and the black clowns wont mess with anything else but me. just watch them with the CC you might want to try and move it cause they can kill it sooner or later due to being aggressive with it. i hade to move my flower pot coral because they wouldnt let it open!

i have a darwin pair that the female will actually jump out of the water to tag me. she is the meanest fish i got. i even have a pair of gold stripes that are puppies compared to them.

Species may vary in aggression, but generally speaking most clowns are fairly aggressive.
Not only did my maroon draw blood, but once she even flew out of the tank and hit the floor jumping at my hand, and my hand wasn't even in the water yet.
Fortunately my picasso's have been sweet, so far...
I can even move their rock w/ eggs on it w/out biting me.
I suspect yours may be maturing and possibly getting ready to spawn soon if not already, that seems to be when they change in behavior most dramatically.

I was just thinking,I'm gonna pair the one I have with another. After reading that they act like pirahnas I'm not so sure now.

Hate it when they get you right between the fingers... They really know where it hurts.. :(

i have learned to go in with a closed fist or a flat hand held tight so the webbing of my fingers are not open for being nipped. they still ding me every chance they get.

As long as I have all of your ears... do you think a six line wrasse would be ok in the 29g with the pair? or is that just a bad idea...?

YOu know, everybody forgets that they are damsels. Everybody is always talking about how mean damsels are and then act suprised when they get attacted by Meno
