Club member perks?

So I was thinking as a club or organization do we as members or does the president have any pull or connections as far as putting together some kind of in depth behind the scenes tour of the tanks at mystic aquarium. Perhaps some kind of club sponsored field trip. I would be willing to pay and drive my self I'm not asking for a free trip with free admission. I'm just thinking it would be cool to see what the big aquariums do for filtration lighting feeding etc. can someone make a phone call. Maybe we can get enough people to do some bus trips to the new York aquarium or the Boston aquarium at Quincy market just some ideas for club social events that revolves around or passion

I'm pretty sure there is a field trip to Atlantis aquarium every August... Though I could be wrong...

I've been on a behind the scenes tour of the Maritime center before, but I wasn't into fish tanks at the time so i didnt pay attention to that. This was about 4-5 years ago...im sure they still do it.

But i would definately be up for something like that.

they did a behind the scenes tour of atlantis last year , and ya they got some big skimmers like the size of pool filter pumps . and not just one . I have been behind the scene at mysic and its just a bunch of pool filters . a closed loop so there isnt much to see there .

Mystic does offer tours were u get to interact with the animals and pet them but not sure if they would do groups

Yeah I don't want to swim with the dolphins or pet the stingrays I want to go behind the green curtain and see them monster skimmers and their water top off system. I would be curious to see if they even use RO water or just city water lol

Every place is going to be far for someone. I think if we can Get any place distance shouldn't matter so long as we have interest. I would drive to Boston or new York. So Norwalk is cake lol great thanks for checking

We did a BTS tout at the New England Aquarium in Boston, a few years ago too. There was some sort of problem at the time and they could only take us through the FW section. it's be nice to go back and see the SW.

I've been behind the scenes at Mystic, nothing too impressive there. Atlantis is awesome though!

I've been BTS @ Atlantis a couple times, but I'd love to check out New England Aquarium in Boston. Not nearly as impressive as the reef at Atlantis, but a great aquarium nonetheless.
