CMAS Frag Swap??

Swap updates

Swap updates

I did not read very many posts about the swap info. What little I know is:

-Fairly close, 3/22 Janesville is having their annual swap southernwisconsinfragswap.com
-6/7 is the Cmas swap, I am not sure where it will be located....Just was told the date was confirmed
:deadhorse::deadhorse::deadhorse:

Just wondering some of the old screen names.....was all....to try and remember.

Hmmm... I cant remember many names but PufferPunk was one, I forgot what Teds name was but he was another, I tried to find my old username to look at my old posts but they deleted the old accounts.

Any other thoughts?

Yea please tell the sellers this isnt a retail convention like the last few have been. I remember the first 2 frag swaps I attended a few years ago the prices were great no one was charging too much.... But the last few swaps were like a retail event its not what a swap is all about. There are a few sellers that kept the swap mentality but most were in it for the money.

Yup thats why i hesitate to go, everyones selling LE frags at crazy rates. We need to get back to a swap mentality. maybe not allowing Fish stores to have a table, but that will never happen.

Glad I am not the only one who feels that way. You always had the few tables who were pricy but they were the big names in the reefing world and you knew what you were getting. Now it seems like everyone has branded some coral and wants an arm and a leg for it just because its colorful. I will give the swap one more try if its the same I will officially be done with my cmas membership. If I wanted to shop retail I'd head to my LFS and give them the business as most can order or find anything you are looking for. Now there are a few LFS that went to our swaps like Exotic Aquatics where Jeff gave some crazy deals even at the last swap and for that I am greatful for. I mean we all goto the swaps for $10-$20 frags and I hope we can get back to that.

The vendors at the swaps make there OWN prices and alot of the people who get tables at the swaps make a living off of them. CMAS just hosts the event. CMAS is not going to turn down anyone from selling at the swaps either and the local fish stores normal sell at our swaps anyway. This is actually a good thing because it creates competition between sellers and can help lower prices. Also, CMAS is not just about the swaps. We have other events, trips, and gatherings that go on though out the year.

We know they make their own prices what we are saying is 2 years ago it was different and now it is like a retail swap people who had decent priced frags before are charging way more now.
