They are already showing good extension and I am seeing color today. Some green and blue starting the firm. I am running 12k lights. Some 14k or 20k might help
Yes the sun coral is being feed. This was the condition it was in when rescue from a tide pool. It was a victim of the last storm as well. One side was in the sand.
LOL no. We have been briefed the only time it is illegal is if you are on scuba tanks. You can take what ever you want when skin/free diving/snorkeling. Also a little education for you sir. 99% of the beach material is dead coral here. All broken off the reefs in storms and washed to shore. I go out at low tied and rescue what I can. That sun coral being the perfect example. Half covered in sand and in less than 6 inches of water when I found it.
Not that I need to justify myself to you. Also note I am only here for a short period of time on the Grand scheme of things so everything I grow will eventually be returned to the ocean.
Should I also tell you about the hours and hours I have spent cleaning up your Trash as well as everyone else's in the ocean. Or maybe you want to hear about the money I have spend buying equipment to harvest crown of thorns sea stars that are eating the local reefs. Heck maybe even the 5 boat trips we have made relocating invasive lion fish eating the natural reef fish.
Would you like to join me in my fight to save the reef or just set behind you keyboard and pound away as you import your live rock to North Carolina where it will eventually be in a land fill and doing zero good on a reef.
