Color fade on my true percula clown

Hi All!
I have a pair of percula clowns. They are both active, but very picky eaters. Ive tried live ghost shrimp, frozen mysis and brine shrimp, pellets, and now flakes but my male wont eat. He swims to it and takes what ever I'm offering into his mouth but then spits it out. Now today, his color is fading from the top down. He is still active and swimming all over but now Im worried that if he doesnt get over being picky soon he will die. Any suggestions??...And yes, I've checked all my levels and salinity and they are all spot on.

Mine does the same thing, he will only eat NLS .5mm pellets. He does eat frozen mysis, brine and my whole tank loves LRS nano

That said try grinding up your pellets some and see if he won't eat the smaller size.

Color fade can come from high phosphates and high nitrates. What are your parameters?

Try Cyclops, they always go for those as it's pretty much what they eat in the wild.
If they won't eat those then there may be a more serious problem.

How long have you had them?

Mine would also do the chew and spit. But thats because the mysis is huge and it takes several bites. You sure he's not just munching it down in smaller bites? Mine would chew and spit pellets too.
