I have a pair of rods, just getting third strip (8 months) and starting to get some black but not real orange more of a dark yellow. They eat great, get a mix of rods food, cyclopees, artipods and spirilina flake. What else can I try to get the orange. I have another pair and they eat the same thing and they are bright red. Suggestions?

Joyce Wilkerson talks a little bit about this in her book on breeding & raising clownfish. There are some foods that have color enhancers--I can't remember which off the top of my head, but you might want to check w/your LFS. Good luck!

I think I meant to say carotenoids.... anyhow, I agree. Joyce Wilkerson's book is a good source for this info. She mentions specific foods and supliments that can enhance different colors....
