Come Give Us Your Opinion!

That all sounds great. And I'm okay with a co-organization between you two... As long as it has nothing to do with you guys in underwear. On second thought, it could be a marketing ploy..

Thompson, bring the camera!

Yeah, I don't think anyone should have told him about the reflections on the glass.. That way we would all know what Adam's most embarrassing moment is.

Do you think this is venturing away from "the purity of the thread" ? Hehe :) I love it!
I was waiting to be told to get back on topic..... :)

Well, I guess I should lead us back towards the point of the thread. Does anybody else have interests for meeting topics or want to support one already suggested?

Haha, I wasn't fast enough!

Again I ask:

hey hey hey.....thats my saying.
At least I know someone reads my random musings.

Anyways...

Steve, Nick....are you guys upto this as a demo?

Can I ask you to let Chris (cmcsomenumberorother and OUbrook) know when you think you may be able to do this ?

That way they can start getting a meeting schedule for next year.

Thanks Guys.
P.

I know Sheri (ouspeedbump) had lots of ideas she wanted to post, but hasn't been able to. She's relatively new to the hobby, so some of them are concepts we forget we had to learn once too, but maybe will be good for new members. I'll encourage her to post them.

ok, I was making a list so I didn't make 50 posts on here, Brook just got impatient with me... so here is what I have so far. Some will be impractical to do at a meeting, some are pretty straightforward and maybe not necessary, and some I have no interest in, but thought someone might be. So without further ado, here is my big fat list of program suggestions.

moonlights
custom glass tank tops for odd shaped tanks
basic stand ideas and construction
concerns nano owners have that larger systems don't have to worry about
breeding
good plant/algae prop.
substrate alternatives/ options
different filtration options
medications
traps
aquascaping
rock making
snails- types, advantages/specialities of each
bad algae treatments, removal
live food prop.
frozen and dry foods and suppliments
shrimp and crab types, advantages/specialaties of each
sandsifters- best for different problems, situations
methods of cycling rock
chemicals
tank pests/ problem critters
photography
lighting types and options
anemone prop. types, specialities, splitting etc.
clams

told you it was a list. I didn't thin it out, so feel free to chop it up. maybe something that isn't feasible to one may be to another. let's start ranking them in order of popularity so we can see what people are more interested in so we can start scheduling. maybe make a master list and everyone vote on their top 2-3 topics? if something just interests a couple people, maybe they can arrange to meet in a small group sometime. that way, a large group isn't made to listen to something that doesn't interest them necessarily. just my 2 cents. ok, maybe i am up to a dime now, hehehe.

I would narrow the list down by the factor of "what can people learn from a simple search on RC".... then what remains is the stuff we need to be teaching/learning etc.

For example: Snails. A simple search or reading of the sales descriptions will narrow that one down. I would like to see us do "hands on" stuff as a priority. Such as nightlights, cutting glass, acrylic etc.

Paul.

Those are just my thoughts.....

What about those in the club who don't venture online? I'm not saying this isn't a good idea, it is, but I know lot's of people who are still "afraid" of computers and of the unholy internet. Reefcentral.com is by far the best site I've found for my information. Maybe we should get a section on the comas website for things that we may consider to 'small' of an inssue for a meeting. Just some of my random thoughts....

Exactly. I do not think that any of those are a bad idea. In fact, a lot of people need to find good information on those topics all the time. But a meeting once a month wouldn't be a good place for most of that. But Adam has something there. And I'm sure someone somewhere is working on it, but an information section of COMAS might be helpful.
