Confused about lights

I tried to research about upgrading my light setup but it seems to just get me more and more confused.

I have a CoralLife 96w with a 50/50 bulb now but I really want to start getting into corals, mainly Zoas.

The tank has been up and running for over a year now with no corals. It's a 65 gallon, and I'd like to start the process of upgrading my lights so I can start collecting Zoas but I have no idea of where to start with my lights.

Right now I'm looking at this one, Reef Geek 36" Sunlight Supply Am I on the right track with a setup like this given the depth of my tank? Or should there be something else I need to consider?

Thanks for any help,
Chris

you should be ok. I run a TEK T5 48" ( 8x54watt ) system on my 100gal. zoos can be grown in almost anylighting.

What is the depth of your tank??? You should be fine with that setup... I have (8x54w) t5's over my 75 and my 120... I also have 4x39w t5's and 2x250w MH's over my 58 though... :D Depends on what else you plan to keep in your tank, how fast you want it to grow, etc, etc.....

The tank is 18"W x 25"H x 36"L.

I'd like to do it right the first time and make sure I get the right setup to make them as healthy and grow as quickly as possible with a moderate budget. If that's possible. lol I'd like to set things up to be able to pick up any coral I wanted but want to make sure my Zoas will be as healthy as possible since they are the ones I'm targeting.

How much better do Zoas and other corals respond to MH lighting?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question guys.

I think its the same man, colors look better with attinic supplemenation.... certain blue bulbs make the colors POP more.. I'll be experimenting with those purple lights soon..

I also have a 36" Tex 4 x 39wt fixture that I just put on my tank. I just got mine from Reefgeeks as well.

I got my fixture on my tank the 5th and all I can say is WOW!!!

Over the lighting forum they are leaning towards the Aquanetics brand of fixture since they come with a fan a better reflectors.

I am posting a before and picture but can not seem to get the correct colors with my digital camera. Might be an excuse to get a Canon or Nikon. :)

I have the Aquactinics fixture and it rocks. Can't go wrong. 5xT5 kicks out more par than the 6 bulb Tek fixture.

Will Zoas do fine in a 55 Gal. tank with SunpaQ 2x96W? One lamp is a Dual daylight lamp 96W and the other is a Dual Actinic lamp 96W?
