why are these guys listed as expert only?
 
I saw one at the Aquarium of the Pacific (Long Beach) a few months ago. It was at least 18" to 20" long. Amazing.

Lightning maroons look really nice compared to allot I see, great markings. Seems cheap compared to some of the ugly looking designer clowns.
 
some lightning maroons go for a lot. it usually depends on the patterns with them.

designer clowns can get astronomically expensive.
 
I think what really makes the rare speies rare is how often divers catch those speciesis and die off once in distributor' holding tanks boost price to make profit

many species such as the gem tang are not rare. they just have a very small range. that and deepwater fish are harder to catch because some can be elusive and divers dont have as long at deeper depths
