Cool Fish on Diver's Den

Coral beauty?! Dmorty is freaking out! RARE AND EXOTIC!!!!!!

It was tough to hold back from that one!

Lol ^

I do appreciate Derek's taste though. Love his fish. Although, probably will never be able to afford what he gets ever in my life :)

My taste and bank account don't always line up so well...;) I save for what I want, some things take longer to save for than others! I have non rare stuff too... Blonde nasos, Regals, Aussy tusk, clown soapfish, and I almost forgot a PJ cardinal! I find that my love for angels only continues to grow, same with butterflies. Trying to get some more eating corallivores from DD via Kevin Kohen. Those are what is really rare, and mostly unseen in tanks. I think there is less of those in captivity than something seriously rare like a Personatus or Roa Excelsea

What specific fish are you looking into?

I too love butterflies. Raccoon is one of my favorite. Although not rare, they are so beautiful.

What is everyone checking salinity with? How often are you calibrating? Seems that the salinity readings from DD are all over the place and I would be willing to bet that the salinity doesn't rise and fall every day or so like some of the readings that have been posted

I just received a fish from DD with salinity at 1.029 and fish poo everywhere in the bag. Second time I've received a fish from them with salinity significantly higher than 1.025 that they post on their site. I don't worry as much about higher salinity, but I also just received a fish from another online vendor that came in at 1.010. It took me nearly 3 days to bring that up to my tank salinity of 1.025.

This mushroom has true American spirit.

Yep, on the website before it's sold :p

Are Moorish Idols generally hard to come by? I only ask because my local store has them all the time. I know they are a tough fish to keep, but didn't consider them rare. But now that I think about it, I do rarely see them on DD. Such a cool fish.

And let's be real, at the of the day, isn't this the coolest fish in the sea?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Most MI are hard to keep, that's why there is a primer for them. A conditioned fish from DD is probably a very good shot at keeping that fish.
Achilles tangs are cool, but at the end of the day, a Regal or Bandit angel trumps all :)
