Cool Fish on Diver's Den

I was going to say that there is no way I'd spend that kind of money of a fish. Then I said to myself, stop being an *** hat and sound like I'm judging. I've thrown that kind of money down on a bottle of wine or two in a single evening.

Still, I couldn't do it. Not because of the price but because I'd be worried I'd screw it up in whatever form of acclimation I use... And sadly one of my favorite fish outside the copper band butterfly is a purple tang. I even draw the line there so more than likely will not own one for a while.

Any fish that's over $500 is another level of fish IMO. Something over that is a serious undertaking

God spent a little extra time on these:

^^^I think most shops nowadays refer to them as Koi Tangs and yes one fish store in LA got 6-8 of them. You can see a video of them on Cali Kid Corals Facebook page. I saw them in person as they were just brought in from wholesale.

I think they are cool but not nearly as cool as the ones with white in them. I will pass for $600 but they are fish not everyone has. Really would like a Koi Acanthurus of some sort

Reefwise had a few and there was a shop in Jersey that had 2-3 but this was back in November/December

SDC huh?

I don't like calling them koi cuz they don't look like koi at all in terms of patterns.

Dang it - that sucks. Thankfully I've never had an DOA fish from shipments, after all the excitement leading up to it I'd be really bummed :( Was the shipping delayed or anything?

No, shipment was on time.

Water temperature was with 22°C a bit on the cool side.

Likely Sudden Freight Syndrome - I had that a lot when breeding them in the 90s. Back then the cause was bad brine shrimp quality.
