...

Also do you have any additional flow in the nursery, or just the return pump and wave device?

thanks

Snaza, I have done some changes in all system. For redundancy, and to increase the water flow in the system, I have implemented an important upgrade in this area.

RETURN PUMPING UPGRADE

To add one more return pump to each system tank, the pump chamber was moved to the left side of the sump compartment. To to that I needed to drill three holes to assemble the external Deltec pumps.

Deltec return pumps added for Maternity tank, Day-care Center tanks and Nursery tank, respectively

Changes done to create the pumps chamber on the left side of the sump compartment

The final result: the new Deltecs and Red Dragon pumps added to the system.

Additions:

Maternity

Before: 1 x Sicce multi 5800 flow rate 5,800 L/h
Added 1 x Deltec HLP 5250 pump added - max flow rate: 5800 lts/h (1289 G/h).

Nursery

Before: 1 x Eheim compact + 5000 (2.500-5.000L/h)
Added 1 x Deltec HLP 5250 pump added max flow rate - 5800 lts/h (1289 G/h). See pic below

Day-care Center tanks (tanks connected each other by a channel, located on the highest stand)

Tanks on the middle shelf of the stand
Before: 1 x Eheim 1260 (5,800 L/h)
Added 1 x Deltec HLP 8070S pump added = max flow rate -8400 lts/h (1866 G/h)

Tanks on the upper shelf of the stand (close the ceilling)
Will be functioning with a Red Dragon II titanium Pump, 170 model , with controller, from Royal Exclusive - Max Flow Rate: 18m3/h at 2m (4,755 G/h at 6.56 foot).

Cheers,

Machado, congratulations for this amazing frag propagation system and I would like to thank a lot for sharing all this information and taking time to answer all those questions.

I am so inspired by your work that I will start a small propagation system based in all the infomation that only you shared with us.

Please keep updating, we all have a lot to learn from you.

Parabens e muito sucesso.

Machado, I have been following your thread on your system for a while and love seeing your updates on system upgrades. Keep up the good work, you have inspired a lot of fellow reefers. Thanks.

Hey Machado ,

This Thread is so unique that your passion in setting up frag after frag tanks of endless supplies of your "cloned" coral collection is astounding and truly one heck of a real dedicated propagater
:eek1: !! ... IMHO
It reminds me of folks that propagate orchids in glass flasks ...

Keep Up the Excellent Work!!

I just finished reading this from start to finish in one sitting and my eyes are bleeding....But well worth it!

M: You may have started a whole new trend in reef keeping...(or call it coral keeping)...

I tried to read the whole thing but only made it half way through..lol. Anyway, as many others have said before I absolutely love your tanks. I had already wanted to start my own frag tank and seeing this thread just reinforces my desire to get my tank up and running. Keep up the great job and continued success!

Hi prideprops!

I feed corals with some frozen food like red plankton, bosmiden, lobster eggs and cyclops or lyophilised food like pro-coral zooton, alternating all foods every day. For enhanced long-term coloration and growth I feed them too with cyclop-eeze almost daily together with the mentioned foods. When I feed corals or fishes the skimmers don’t run.

Cheers,

Machado de Sousa
Do you feed with the lights on or off?

Marcio T.D., Palancarpets, CrazyCohiba, PauChi, tanks2u, I am really glad you are enjoying this thread. Thanks for your kind words.

FuzzyZipperbaum, one day I’ll open the thread that you have suggested.

Whenever possible, I use to feed corals with lights off.

Cheers,

unbelieveable setup... after my lottery investment pays off, I'm coming to visit. :P

Machado your setup is an inspiration to get my display to the quality of your maternity tank and be able to do on a very small scale what you have in your space.
