Yardboy, I understand that but then later he posted this:
Marcus, "Danke" for your sympathy.
May be this year I will visit again the new Korallenfarm space.
I was visiting your thread from the beginning and I liked it very much. Congratulations on your amazing tank! Your Actinia equina is very pretty and was taken in the same place I use to collect the NSW for my corals.

Do you remember this place? It was a cold and cloudy day! The transporter is a Ford Transit (one of the first models).

oaklandreef, Thanks for your comments.

Cheers,
And then this on page # 26:
I usually collect water in both sides of the lighthouse. The last time I collected water in the location you mean.
My prop is located no more then 20 km from Cabo Raso.

I have a question about your shelf system.

I saw that you knockout holes in your vertical supports. What is your purpose for that?

Thanks
Mike

Perhaps he is using a mix, or the salinity where he is could need boosted to get it where he wants. Just a couple of thoughts. Macado has taken some time off from the thread. Hopefully he will re-engage sometime soon.

First of all, I must confess that I'm pleasantly surprised by the attention that my thread continues to receive. I apologize to all for my tardiness in posting and keeping the thread updated but a lot of ongoing demands on my time impede me. I'll try to be more present and soon I'll post updates.
About the water in my prop: I always used synthetic saltwater but I'm using NSW one year ago.

Cheers,

-Hey Machado :) ,

-Besides the use of NSW do you add any trace elements , carbon dosing or special feedings ?
Because if you don`t ,i`ll go back to the basics and skip all that too :) , because your propagation tank looks so beautifull and clean :eek1::thumbsup: !!!
your coral collection is truely amazing , and i hope i can keep them as beautifull as you can some day.

greetingzz tntneon:)

Hello Machado!

Do you ever try to use ozon in your system? Of course in conjunction with redox controler?

Of the more than 4000 coral, which is your pride? If you can with photos.
Your future prospects and what corals you want to have in the future.
Thank you for your answers.

:celeb1: Woohoo Machado deSousa is back! I hope to learn more from your coral maternity. Any changes to the system?

In addition, could you please explain the differences between the "Maternity", "Nursery", and "Day Care Center", if you are referring to the tanks??

Maternity - Tank that lodges the mother colonies donors of polyps, or fragments, destined to the reproduction.

Nursery - Tank destined to the first phase of the reproduction. Here the polyps, or fragments, come from the Maternity to develop themselves, they are fixed in rubber covers of plastic pipes flowers. They will remain in this place the necessary time until they reach a certain state of development.

Day-care center - Tank destined to second phase of reproduction. They are transferred “babies already grown” from the Nursery together with the respective rubber covers.

Updated pics please.I would like to see the growth on some of those early frags you had posted in the beginning of the thread.they must be large colonies by now.TIA

I am in awe.. a nooby here and dream of having some of that color........ wowweee! truly a work of art. Thank you for sharing. The photo of your nursery would be an awesome poster......... oh to dream of the future frags I might have one day...

Truly thank you and keep up the fantastic work. You are saving our reefs a frag at a time.
