Coris Wrasse - Eaten by cucumber?

Yellow Coris Wrasse - sleeps in the sand as you likely know. Around 7PM, he beds down for the night and generally isn't seen until late morning the next day.

A few days ago, he didn't come out at all during the day.

Then he showed up with some significant damage to his side, eye, and tail.

The tail is typical, I have a clownfish that's a little nippy... But the damage on his side didn't look like bites. They almost looked like dead patches.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced cucumbers eating a sleeping wrasse? I have 2 small cucumbers (that I know of). They are Holothuria floridana - if that helps.

Fish was removed into a hospital tank and culled a few days later when it was clear he wasn't improving.

I have never heard of a sand sifting cucumber eating or damaging a fish before, doesn't mean it can't happen but its unlikely. They are extremely slow moving so the wrasse was either knocking on deaths door or sick to begin with if in fact the cucumber is the culprit

Is there a heater in the tank? Or maybe an aggressive anemone such as a carpet? The damage on its side sounds like a heater burn or anemone damage.

Only other add was a cleaner wrasse... so no issues there.
No heater in the tank _ it's in the sump
Only anemone is a Rose BTA..... but that's possible I guess...
Or maybe one of the more agressive LPS... I have quite large bubble and frogspawns....
