could there be a Mantis shrimp in my tank?

i havent seen him but.......

i hear a clicking sound every once and a while
i saw a empty shell from what looked like a tiny mantis shrimp, as if he motled
(only shrimp i know of in my tank is a nice medium sized pepermint shrimp and it wasnt from him)
snails have been dying randomly

are these tell-tale signs of having a hiden mantis hitchicker in my tank? or am i just trippin'?


any way to try and spot/tell definatly if i got one as a hitchiker by chance?

Mmmm, sounds like you might have one, if you find smashed snail shells then its a def yes. I sometimes hear clicking from my main reef and it sounds similar to my Mantis only not as loud. Could be a Pistol shrimp that came as a hitchhiker in which case you would be fine.
