Also my friend wants help restarting his old abandoned tanks.
He has let both of them run with the live sand and rock in them and the cucs...keeping them alive. There are these white small worms all over the place in one and algae all over both. He had the right equipment and he knows what he is doing but he has just been lazy lately. One was a reef and the other was an aggressive tank. The reason he kind of gave up on them was because someone decided it would be funny to put beer in them and see what happens. All of his livestock died and he lost ALOT!
What could those small white worms be? How do you get rid of them? Do you have to get rid of them?
Do you need to "deep" clean the rock and sand? Like dry them out and rinse and let it cycle again and all that. Can you just keep them in the tank like you would for regular maintenance? Like siphon the sand and squirt the junk off the rock and use a cuc.
How would you "deep" clean the rock and sand? Drying? Rinse? Boil? Dip?
We should definitely change all the water right?
What do I do with the live stock while I do this stuff...If I need to change the water and stuff?
