Cousin of the 1300 gallon addiction: The Miami Kitchen Build

Japanese squat toilet for your aquarium ?

I hope the backside of your tank is supported enough.
A single 4X4 post is only rated for about 4,000 lbs. That tank is going to weigh more than a small car when filled

Lol. No it's a drain for the floor in the event I have a flood or water spill. Or if I want to hose the whole room down.

The horizontal rear beam are 2 2x4 supported 2 vertical beams directly attached to the floor. Aside from the rear support the front of the tanks is supported by 4 2x4 that holds the first 8" of the tank.

The kitchen finally done.. needing some trim around the fish tank, deciding between stainless steel or a wood trim that is white. Now that we have the final kitchen we're getting started on plumbing the tank.

very nice, i would go w stainless, to match the appliances, and go w the silver in the granite

Thanks! Been leaning towards that initially but to try and get things done quicker I was contemplating the wood trim since u already have it. But I think you're right should just stick to the stainless still. 👍🏽🤘🏽👌🏾

Thanks all! Just got the sea swirl in and just bought an exterior storage box too hopefully get started on plumbing soon.
Looking to run the pump, chiller, and 120gl reservoir tank/salt water mixer from the outside into the fish room.
Trying to keep all the noise to a minimum and maximize the interior space for quarantine tank and frag tank.

Looking forward to keep you Reefers abreast of any updates.

Anyone know of a better way to do pictures Instead of having to use a computer? I can't figure out how to do it with the iPhone.

almost completely filled and everything held nicely. granted when all the sand and rock go in it'll weigh twice as much. Although I scuba dive and understand the effect water has in magnifying things, I was surprised that everything seemed so much closer than expected.

The only thing i'm wondering if it'll make a big difference losing that space on the back end , like 1" on all sides from installing the split face rock. any opinions on anyone that has done the same with their tank?

Thanks!

This is going to be really cool when done! Also; as you progress, are you still really thinking fish only? lol....you will change to the reef side after a while I bet! lol

I was intentionally looking for this post because you were right. I haven't even started filling up the tank with water and i've already decided that i'm going to go into the whole coral side of things.

Have some frags waiting for me at my cousins 1000gl tank. haha..

so you called it.
