Crab Eating Flower Urchin?

I added a flower urchin to my reef aquarium about a week ago. My largest hermit crab has apparently attached himself to it and from all accounts picked it bald. When I purchased it, it had lots of "flowers", if that's what you call them. But as you can see from the image below, now it looks much different. Has anyone ever heard of this behavior? I know these urchins will pick up small objects and tote them around because initially it would do this. In fact, I saw it tote around some small crabs. But this particular crab is very large and well able to free itself. If you watch closely, you can see what looks like feeding behavior from the crab. Any insight into this is appreciated.

I think your hermit is thanking his lucky stars for the delicious food someone dropped in his tank! In your image it looks as if the crab has stopped picking off the tube feet and decided to start feeding on the internal organs by way of the mouth area.
