Just un covered the tank.. most of the dino is gone! I'm going to manually remove the tiny ices that are left then inject the rest with H202.
Aaaaaaaaaand still no Dino.![]()
Congrats! How did you apply the H2O2, with a baster pointed at the dino or just pouring it in? How much?
this peroxide the kind you get in the farmacy for scrape and cuts?
No GFO.I've never cured dino as my aquarium is still fairly new, so I can't comment on if what you're doing is correct. Are you currently running GFO, and if yes, how often do you change it out? I've had patches of dino that I'm dealing with and wondering if changing out my GFO more often should help.
Dinos caused me to restart my tank. Now about 5 months into my restarted tank and I got Dinos again. My snails do eat some of it, but largely avoid eating this stuff.Unlike previously, I am not going to panick or rush into a war with the Dinos. I have reduced light hours to 5 hours and basting and manual removal every few days and catching some in a filter sock. I am also doing 15% weekly water changes. So far they have reduced. They are also not spreading. Any area that the snails eat off the rock, that area does not have the Dinos return. I checked under a microscope and am certain that what I have is not Diatoms or Cyanno. Not all Dinos are highly toxic etc.I really believe in the next couple of months this will disappear. If it doesnt I will drain the tanks water as low as possible and use a spray bottle to spray a mist of peroxide at the rocks. I figure if I do a section at a time it will be fairly easy a job to do.
