Crazy Mandarin

So do I have the only crazy (spotted)mandarin who likes to swim all over the water column, especially the top? He's really a nutcase, and I've pulled him out of the overflow more than once......aren't these cats supposed to like the bottom of the tank...or did I get a short bus special?

I have officially had too much caffeine and not enough sleep

Sounds like maybe your mandarin is having the same problem :D

Most of the ones I have seen like to hover and pick at the rockwork all day. I have seen them out in the open before but I don't think it was in the upper layers of the water column.

I have one that swims on the surface sometimes. The first time was after a wrasse stirred up some sediment but it has happened since usually right before the actinics go out. Funny stuff!

Ours travels the water column also. Manny, as we call him, might just be bored.

my spotted loves to go current surfing every now and then, its funny watching a mandarin "catch a wave" a go flying across a 180, especially when he's up with 8-9" fish it looks funny
