crosshatch swallowed an elastic

Put a crosshatch in qt last night. While acclimating several small pieces of 1/4" wide rubberbands got into the tank. I thought I removed them all. Today for the first feeding I turned the filter off this released a 1/4"x3/8 piece of rubberband stuck to the strainer. In the feeding frenzy the Crosshatch ate it. The trigger is about 8" total length, will he pass this elastic or is this going to be a problem?

I would guess that the rubber band will pass. My tangs eat whole ones by accident upon occasion and I see the end result later. Really, there is not much to do but wait for him to pass it.

He passed the elastic. He has been hiding, not eating much all day, but I just saw him pass the elastic. Hope he is more lively tomorrow.

He's doing quite well now. I was surprised at how much he did hide for the first month, pretty much only came out at feeding. At times he still retreats to his hole but usually not for very long. He hasn't bothered any of the other fish , clams or shrimp.
