Crosshatch Triggers

Here are my new Crosshatch Triggers. They have been in the tank since Wednesday and are now starting to come out and have a look around.

These are the best pic's I could get. It's is the 1st time the male has ventured out (thanks to cyclop-eeze).

Beautiful triggers. What are their sizes? Where did you purchase them? What are the other tankmates? I have been considering a pair for my 215.

They are reef safe. The male is 7" and the female is 6" and I got them form a local reefer in trade for frags.

Thanks for the comments

they look great. i just got a little 4 in male yesterday. he has quite a personality. always comes to the top and spits water at people.

socal1- where did you find a 4" male? i have always seen them come in at 6-7" plus....

thanks

Nick

I have a 3.5" male too. They are harder to get and you don't know for sure if they will be male or female.

Once they get used to you, they are super hardy and harldy ever hide. It takes a few days though.

OOOHHH yah! I've been looking high and low for little guys. They got a bunch in recently but they're all monsters!

Moonpod,
saw them recently in LA wholseller.
The only small ones I saw were around 2.5-3" females, but they were with much larger males and only sold as a pair.
They're becoming more and more common the last couple of months.

Well they have been in the tank 6 days and are aclimated to my tank. They are eating anything I drop in the tank. The female is a lot more active and attacks food, while the male hides more and eats at a much more relaxed pace. The colors are also starting to pop. I wish these guys were smaller, at least I have a 250g tank.

I got my little male from the good LFS near by. It was cheap too... as far as crosshatches go. I am lucky to have such a good LFS only 10 minutes away.

great looking pair leishman. do you have clams in your system? i've always wanted a pair for my reef and actually had a male once, but it bit (not nipped) at my clam mantles.

i've seen others with crosshatch in their reef systems with clams and they've never bothered them at all. i guess it's hit or miss.

No clams, my Blue Face Angel would be all over them. He/she was awsome at wiping out my leftover unwanted Zo's
