Crushed coral 2mm as a substrate?

I've been looking around a lot to find a cheap replacement for aragonite sustrate. I looked at home depot and alike for playsand but I only found brown stuff I dont want in my tank. I looked for pulverised limestone with no luck. Industrial quartz is very white and shiny, not sure about that.

Thanks to a connection I have at Hagen, I can have everything they sell for 70% off the retail price (approx). I found this 2mm crushed coral "sand" here
I know people try to avoid the regular 5mm+ crushed coral because it becomes a nutrient trap but the 2mm should be right. what do you think?

Great, I know it doesn't have the buffer effect of the aragonite though.

Thanks

Eh, the buffer affect of substrate is almost nothing due to the high Ph in our tanks. Don't worry about that. That's what additive's like B-Ionic are for.

Ah! Marketing is a powerfull thing. Caribsea knows it :).

Absolutely. I actually bought a couple more 40 lb. bags of Caribsea tonight (seaflor speacial grade), but just because I like the particle size and color of the substrate. It has nothing to do with the buffer affect.

It is for my new 90g :D
