crvz's hole in the wall

I have purchased the 300 DD and am looking forward to setting it up in the near future. There is a few options for the 300 DD like moving the overflows onto the back wall and the starfire is nice on the three sides also. Mine is not running yet but think I'm gonna be happy with it in the end.. 36 inches WOW it's got potential... Good luck with closing gonna tag in...

sounds great, GT, you have a build thread you wouldnt mind sharing?

I made it to the house today, which isnt unusual, but having a camera on me is! Here's the suspect wall in the breakfast area of the house which will hopefully have a large hole in it.

On the opposite side of that wall sits ample garage space that I'll enclose and get some sort of air conditioner in place.

My current favorite aspect of the house, though, is this panel. They ran all the CAT5 and RG6, as well as the alarm business, to the same place. They also ran conduit to the attic so that we can easily pull more (say, fiber optic) in the future. The phone and cable lines are already hooked up to their junction boxes. There CAT5 lines not connected are the data lines run to each room (including garage). So all I'll have to add is a router and then plug everything in. There are extra RG6 lines available as well.

And here are all my remaining corals. Montis and birdsnests are rocking, acros are pretty much gone. All the LPS and Zoas look great. And the picture? Pretty terrible.

Chris... good to hear that the closing is, well..., closing in!

Are you going to have access from the front of the tank (kitchen, IIRC)? 36" would be SWEET, but would be quite impossible to work with if there was no front access! Looking forward to the "CRVZ part Deux"!

Staying barebottom on the new setup, I presume? :D :D

I dunno about front access. I've heard I'd be foolish not to have it... but we'll see. It's 36" front-back, not tall, but I understand what you're saying about reaching things. My plan is to be able to stand on the stand and hoist the lights all the way to the ceiling for access, which should make getting to the front a bit easier. I'd only have about 9" of clearance from the top of the tank to the header running across the opening, but that may be better than nothing.

And I'm actually seriously considering sand in the new setup. Blasphemy!

Definitely create front access. Contact Servo for pictures of his, as it is fully hidden as trimwork, but opens up for those times you just have to do something. I can't imagine my reef without front access even though the tank is in the fishroom. I'd be miserable working only from behind.

I do like your wiring box with all the stuff ready to connect to an Apex Controller. :p

You guys must be anxious to get moved in!

Like you wouldnt believe.

I'm anxious to have a tank!

I do not have a build yet. I am considering one when I get a little closer to building this set up.. Thanks and continued success...

Who is this new person impersonating Chris that puts sand in his tank and has metal halides?

We're still uncertain at this time, but hopefully it won't turn out terribly in the end. ;)

be sure to share it with us when you get going!

Looking good so far. Tagging along.

thanks!

Hardware help!

I need to hook up my RO/DI unit when we move next week so that I can get my tank home. The house is run with PEX instead of PVC. Are sharkbite tees my best option? I've seen folks go from PEX to CPVC with those tees, and then from CPVC to 1/4" RO line.

hey chris, my house has pex all around too.

i'm definitely curious as to how you plan on hooking up your ro unit, as i'll probably do the same.

btw, we need more pics.

i was talking about the house. since it's almost done, i wanna see it. and i'm too lazy to drive out there, so pics will have to do  .

did you already sell the other house?
