nothing terribly exciting, but I am moved in (or at the least, all my crap is in the house). Lots to do before now and christmas to get everything out of boxes, but I'll try and snag a few pictures between now and then.

Dunno yet! And I doubt I'd bother with rimless, as it's an in-wall system and I don't think there would be any value in spending the extra money on that feature. Right now, I'm leaning towards a 300 gallon display.

Alright, so I've been trying to find a great way to hook up my RO/DI. And I wasnt sure how to do it. I went to Home Depot today, and without any help from the crotchety old man working there who clearly wanted to be elsewhere, I went home with a few pieces. So here's how this plays out.
a) measure the PEX line going into the sink (1/2" OD, by the way)
b) go to the hardware store and buy a 1/2" sharkbite Tee, 1/2" CPVC, CPVC female adapter, and a 1/2" male to 1/4" quick disconnect.
c) turn off cold water input to utility sink
d) cut PEX line
e) recognize that 1/2" OD pex line is actually referred to as 3/8" (this wasnt a terrible surprise... I suspected it when I measured originally), go back to HD, wait in long return line to return sharkbite, go look for proper sharkbite fitting, try to talk with irritated crotchety old plumbing dude, realize that HD doesnt carry any 3/8" sharkbites or proper 3/8" PEX fittings, leave HD, go online, pay too much for one fitting at sharkbiteplumbing because you cant find the bullnose fitting anywhere else.
In other words, to be continued. I'm waiting to get my RO/DI setup before bring my critters back to the house. Hopefully I'll have the sharkbite in a few days. Until then, I'll be working to continue to organize this space...

Ah, so my fitting won't be here before the 30th (or so they tell me), so I'll be sitting on my hands for a few days at least. I may start building shelves/cabinets in the garage, but we'll see how inspired I become.
In the mean time, my wife bought me the canon powershot d10. Seems simple enough, but it's completely waterproof, 12 megapixel, shockproof; a nice all around camera for running around with my little buddy as well as opening a new door regarding tank photography. Now if I only had a tank...

I could have, but I didnt have reason to justify those tools yet. I just bought a $10 quick disconnect fitting to get what I need. Hopefully this is the only thing I've got to tap into.

Alright, PEX interface is complete. I bought the sharkbite bullnose fitting to convert my 3/8" PEX line to a 1/2" CPVC line, then added a 1/4" quick disconnect to the PVC (through the threaded connection picture above). Here's the sharkbite I bought, it worked great.
Since then, I've been slowly filling water in the acrylic tank I made a few months back. It's 48"x30"x18", a little over 100 gallons. I made this tank to house a few things at a buddies place, but it didnt turn out well. I went ahead and added a side overflow box and intend to use the sump from my previous setup. I plan on collecting the few remaining corals that I have tomorrow. I also built some cabinets for the back of the wet room, but I havent made any doors. I wanted to get these installed before putting the tank up, so I did that at the same time that I bothered to add the overflow box.

Those cabinets look good Chris. Are they Plywood or did you go all out and use hardwood? Either way, they look like they will be adding a good bit of storage for ya.
The acrylic tank looks like its holding water just fine. Im not sure I would trust my acrylic craftsmanship to hold 100g at this point

Went and got the few things I still call my reef this morning (thanks again, Clint). I've got everything in the garage, and I pulled out my new underwater camera for a few shots. I still need to figure it out a bit, but so far I like it.
