crvz's hole in the wall

i went to that same chain store but in a different area today an they had one as well. was selling it as a powder brown tang.

well they are dummies. ;)

I'm getting a few fish tomorrow in the mail, most specifically a five spot of female lyretail anthias. Granted, they'll be QTed for a number of months, but I'm excited to get a few additions. Hopefully they'll be healthy.

An awful picture, but that which is currently in the QT system. A lamarck's angel, another shot at a powder blue tang, and the 5 anthias. I've also got two canary wrasses and a hoeven's wrasse soon to be added to this QT. Probably won't add the fish to the display until mid August at the earliest.

Good luck with the hoeven's wrasse. I have ordered two of them in the past few months from LA. The 1st one died during shipping and the second died about a week after delivery. I really want to add one to my system but am going to hold out until my tank upgrade is completed.

I built a stand yesterday for a 40 breeder. This will ultimately serve as a coral grow out and quarantine system, but currently it's being used to try and convince a whitecheek and powder blue tang to coexist. Not sure it will work.

A growth shot over 2 months. This is encouraging. I have struggled with acros on this tank over the early life of this tank, and this makes me feel as though I've turned a corner. Here's hoping there arent too many brick walls around said corner. ;)

the corals looks good..

just followed the whole thread at work(slow night).

is the DT sitting fallow at the moment?

The display is not currently fallow, though it has been in the past. The fish in the display are healthy and I have no ich in that tank. The quarantine, which contains the fish I got about 10 days ago, is currently at hypo levels to ward off current infestation that came in with those fish (who were never placed in the display).

The chevron tang. Starting to loose some color, but still a striking fish. I'm curious to see how it will tolerate new fish down the road, as it is a bit aggressive.

Some of the corals I got from LiveAquaria's acro pack. I was a bit disappointed in the colors, but the are nice pieces.

And a red plant frag I got a few months back. Still encrusting the rock, but seems to be doing well so far.

Nice acros! Looks like you have some nice green going on your red planet. Hope you can keep that going, I can't seem to get mine to green up at the base.

Excellent. Glad to see some positive updates. Corals and fish are looking great! :)

Thanks! It's nice to actually see growth on acros. Been a while for me.

I had a nice sized piece in my last tank, and I was looking forward to finding some for this one. It's encrusting pretty well thus far.

I just finished reading this entire thread and must say that it is really impressive. Nice job.

Hey, thanks! It's been a while in the making, but I'm very content with how it's operating.

Some images of the quarantined fish. They're all doing very well, but I'm headed out of town coming up and my wife is convinced they'll all die. There does happen to be a history with that, as I've lost a few fish under her watch by coincidence when I'm out of town, but I don't see that in this case.

Chris.
I finally got a chance to visit this thread and get a large update. Nice work on the AC. The more I think about it, the more I am leaning towards that as well for a fish room.

Great jobs with the additions both fish and coral you've added look pretty awesome.
Cheers
Rob

Things go well enough, the fish are all doing well in QT. I don't think I mentioned it but I did put them through hypo partly as a precaution and partly because I knew I had contamination before adding them (and it had not been 10 weeks fallow by the time they got in the system). I'll probably leave it at lowered salinity for another two weeks, then do a 4 week monitoring before adding them to the display. I also have another handful of fish coming, which I will stick in the 40 breeder as a QT for the time being (so as not to contaminate the current QT process in the stock tank). It's complicated, but I've learned to be patient and diligent.

I also ordered some stuff from rapidled to turn continue the process of making the 40 breeder a coral quarantine. I imagine 36 LEDs will suffice for light on that size tank, but I'll play around with it this next weekend (I'll have a few free evenings while the wife is on a ladies trip).

Main display is doing pretty good, I either have too much light (I raised the pendants a few inches recently) or I'm not feeding enough (which I've also increased), as the corals were a little lacking in coloration. I'm hoping when I get the new fish in the tank these issues will resolve without resulting in attempting other nutrient management solutions.

Boring words, no pictures, I know. Maybe I'll break the camera out soon.

I knew you guys wouldnt care about words! So fine, here's a picture update. The new light for the coral quarantine. Which is currently being used as a fish quarantine.

Still have to mount the drivers on the wall and hang it, but it's ready. I also bought this fish. It's in this coral quarantine.
