Cully's Double D's

Geez, nice to see you are actually doing something with your DD! Your zoanthids are starting to look too good to not frag for myself. On a serious note: Great to see things are progressing, look forward to seeing it all setup.

Heck why settle for a Black tang . GO for the Gemattum(Gem Tang) it's only your money.

nice custom overflow, its beautiful!
lots of nice equipment, looks like a lot of thought put into its selection, going to be a great build, cant wait to see more pic :)

Its more than my money Tom, a gem tang would likely cost me my manhood. "Accounting" would surely never approve such an expediture.

This looks like a fun project. Good luck with this tank.

Im glad you didn't buy the marineland factory stand for the deep dimension. I regret getting both the cabinet and the top. Actually plan to toss some 2x4s for a skeleton under the cabinet. For the price it is very poorly built.

Mark, look forward to your tank!!! I have been working on "floating" rocks. Attatching my sps to mags so I can move them around on the back glass. That might be something you could do. Having said that your rock stacks on your previous tanks were excellent, and you may want to go with that...

The stand is under construction as we speak by Dave and iamwrasseman at ABC Reefs. That will be the catalyst to when this all begins.

joeswoodworks did the canopy, very well, and very reasonably priced. He could not do the stand as it's 4x3 foot print cannot go through standard doors, and therefore would still be in his basement workshop. If you need ANYTHING like this I would highly recommend him. In fact, he's the only guy I would call.

Being a reef keeper, he knew how to make the canopy open and why my ideas weren't optimal. He also put on a little feeder door, so the whole thing doesn't have to be opened every night. It also deters the owner from sticking his hands in the tank every 10 seconds until a rockslide or incidental fragging occurs.

Love the look! Looks like the canopy from my 90. His work is great.

Coming form an accounting student, you can think of it as a capital expenditure. Which is to spend some $ to acquire and improve a long-term asset. hope this makes you feel better! :)

Got all excited about the warmth today. I made an attempt at painting the back glass but it was still too cold out in the garage. Bummer. Friday perhaps....

Did a little work on the Beananimal.

Anyone know how far above the water level or how deep in the overflow box the first emergency drain opening needs to be?

Ha, I just saw that. That's a crazy price. That set up is well over $3G's retail! The tank alone is more than what he's asking!!! But alas, that would put me back up to 3 halides and so on and so forth.....don't think I didn't think about it before we moved.

The guys were at my house Sunday to get final measurements on the stand for "The Deuce". Just finalizing ordering some items, dried LR, MH bulbs, etc....

I'm getting REALLY anxious on the weekends with no tank. It's been 4 days shy of 5 months since I've had a tank. My wife has noticed I'm blatantly grumpier and even more short tempered than usual. I need my therapy back!

Haha! I know what you mean :) I tell people to get an aquarium all the time, at least the ones that ask me how I handle so much stress. My reasoning is why blow so much money on a therapist when I can just as quickly spend it on this hobby lol

Yeah, thanks. Things are coming together nicely. Of all my concerns, I'd have to say the biggest is coming up with a bad-a$$ aquascape. It has to be good, but IMO you also have to visualize how the corals will grow in. Less is more when it comes to the rocks IME.
