Just getting the final plumbing mocked up. Looks like, according to the head loss calculator, I'll be at about 7', or high 6's as far as feet of head loss. With the Snapper, that should put me at about 1200-1400 GPH out of 2 pieces of 3/4 inch loc-line, at 100 Watts. I'm quite pleased with those numbers and don't think I'm going to utilize penductors. But, I do have them for experimentation's sake.

Gotta get the rest of the holes drilled for the sump. I wore one diamond whole bit dull so far. Waiting for BRS to deliver once again. Need to get water in this thing before my wife's water breaks....

Overflow box is installed. Had to modify it just a touch. The center brace is a bit bigger than I realized, or was even aware of, when I gave Chris the specs to make it. No biggie, fits like a charm now.

Did you put a bead of silicone both inside the box and outside?
Precisely how do you go about attaching that box? Is it silicone on the glass, them smoosh the box onto the silicone, then smooth the bead along inside and outside seams?

A bit behind your thread... but did you go dry guy on the drill? Where's the lube?

Made a little reservoir out of plumber's putty and lubed er up. Looks dry in the pic, but it was definitely wet-n-wild!

Had to do it upright because flipping a 4x3, 350lb tank around in my living room was not an option. I mean, don't get me wrong....I'm huge, but it was just a logistics thing.

Got the stand, what I consider, spill proofed. Used FRP and a BUTT-LOAD of mold resistant DAP. Then painted er up with the same Behr primer/enamel mold resistant paint that I used in the canopy. Waiting on some glass to finish up the sumps. Should be good to go very soon.

Enough out of you. Still git'n er done with a 17mo old and a newborn! I can't make the silicone dry any faster and I can't make the baby sleep any better. Go for a bike ride and LIVE! your time will come and when it does, I'll be behind you....buying all your corals...

Lookig good! How are you connecting the two tanks and minimizing the distance between them? Looking at the drawing they are pushed together.

The flow through them will be right to left in the top tank. The filter sock holder is a piece of 4" PVC, an idea stolen from Blurry's suggestions. A 4" filter sock seats nicely inside it. I've made my own personal modifications though. The two tanks are going to be linked through 2, 1" bulk heads. I'll connect them such that the flatter surfaces will be between the tanks with minimum lengths of PVC to get them less than an inch apart.

They will dump into the refugium at first. If there's too much flow I'll employ some diversion of one of the bulkheadss to skip over the refugium into the baffles before the return chamber. Flow in the second tank will be left to right.

Per the discussion regarding sump baffles, I went with the UOUO scheme. We'll see how it all goes soon enough.

Oh and the bulkhead above the larger one with the 2" 90, is an emergency overflow drain. It will be used for water changes as well and will be hard plumbed to the houses plumbing.
