Too kind Michael. I just wish there were any way to get a picture of this thing that captures the dimensions. Every picture I take makes if look like a nano. Other guys with DD tanks will know what I'm talking about.
Tank is frag heavy, gonna be another year before it even starts to look full. Still not requiring much supplementation to maintain adequate levels of Ca Alk & Mg. one 40 gallon water change a week and BRS 2 part doing the trick. There's so much water compared to rock and coral, I'm sure that's what's gittin r done.

Love it. Do you have a thread discussing your choice of sand bed depth? Looks very thin, but still keeps the glass covered and appears nicely manicured. What's your CUC and sand cleaner situation?

Only sand cleaner is a diamond goby. Kicks a LOT of crap up into the water column much to my shagrin. I figure while I'm in the grow out phase its ok to keep pockets of phosphate build up down. Perhaps the corals like it. Not good for aesthetics though.
Other than that, a few turbos and trochus snails. Sand bed is shallow and siphoned thoroughly with water changes. Basically there for looks. Minimal functionality IMO.

It definitely has a place in every aquarium. Needs to be isolated, but non reef keepers lick the glass watching that stuff.

mark i think a 40 gal water change weekly will keep your tank pristine ! many people slack from this and wonder why they are growing beautiful hair algae !
