I would go to your LFS's and see if you could trade frags for store credit or supplies (salt, carbon, gfo, etc....). Sounds like your regular trimmings are more than enough to make it worth the LFS's time. But I can understand your reasoning if I were in your shoes, and about the security thing I understand since I had a guy come over to buy a frag and he swiped all my epoxy when I wasn't looking. It wasn't a big loss but it was still disheartening. But the other 99% of the time I haven't had any issues with people from my local reef forum coming over for frags and what not.

Kind of like advising Picasso about his brush strokes...but I would sure like to be the happy apprentice that gets to take home the donut rejects. :D

Thanks you for the high praise, Rick. I really appreciate it!

Cuna! I can't condone what you did because i wanted frags LOL!!! But as Bobby Brown says "its your prerogative" I can do just what i feel!

YES Please keep those pics coming, looking forward to seeing more!

Hi Chris - I will have some more frags in a couple months. Thank you for the comments.

Awhile back you gave me some prices for your frags. I bet every frag I liked is in your backyard dead now. smh
Next time ship them to me. I will pay the shipping. no problem.
No problem, Henry. I would be happy to ship.

lol.

sorry to hear about the losses ... but lets face it, no-one trows away healthy Live frags ...
Hi Allmost, You have some very large corals in your tank. You have never done ANY trimming and tossed them out.

Thank you for understanding Ksicard. I've met some great people in this hobby. I have also met the 1%. I did try to sell them to the LFS, but they were only interested in the very common cheap corals. Next time I have some leftover corals, I'll be sure to work with the RC community to find a good not-for-profit solution.

I wish I had CUNA's problems lol.
:) Let me know if you have a solution to my problem.

Happy Holidays,
James

dude are you serious right now? I have nothing but nice things to say about James. I have purchased from him more then once and he sent me more then i paid for. he even paid most of the shipping once for me and i was taken back by it. i mean this guy sent me some rare frags including a true Oregon tort.
i even asked him once to cut me frags and hold onto them for a few weeks until i was able to pay him. I cant say enough nice things about him and to be honest I would buy from him 100 more times.

also you are destroying a great thread so please take you negativity off line as some of us love the hobby and try and learn from others.

^This.

Several posts have been removed from this thread. Lets leave the drama and personal attacks elsewhere.

Hey James, I know I'm about to get demanding here, but there are a couple of corals in your system that I'd love to see now after the time passed and your trimming..
Specifically the rambleberry- there was a shot of it on page two, I think..
Also, how does the Oregon tort and the bottle brush look these days?
Thanks !! :)
No rush, obviously.... This afternoon will do...

Looking great James ..next time I can order more stuff and whatever you gonna throw away u can just add it with my order..lol..

Honestly James, you're a much bigger person than me. If a bunch of people I'd never met threw a temper tantrum basically because I didn't give them free stuff, I would be extremely irate and probably post pictures of me killing frags on purpose just to spite them. That being said, take it from someone who just lost his tank to a neighbors drug-cooking fumes, you can never make too many copies of the good stuff! I've been admiring your growth & colors for a while now. The fact that you grow things too fast just makes your tank more amazing. P.S., I know for a fact that you're not the only person who ends up having to toss things due to too-fast growth, so don't feel bad.

oh I do, but I bag them up, and take it to LFS ... I dont even waste glue or plugs, they take care of it there at the LFS ... I get food or bulbs if needed in exchange.

I know what you mean about having randoms over though. I used to do that, but stopped due to the same reasons. got too many bad stories about that ... you could also donate them to your local reefing groups ...

now to lighten up the mode, we need some macro shots lol

i can't wait (hopefully 6 months to a year from now) to show James how nice the corals are looking in my tank. 90% of the corals in my tank was bought from James early this fall.

i want to see a pile of dead acro bones...can you post the pics again or pm me....i dont know why but its like having to look at a broken leg replay in basketball over and over...

You know Hannibal Lecter?
Hi Rick, :) Different strokes for different folks. What else can I say. LOL

Sure. Its pretty gruesome though. You may want slowly peek through your fingers and avoid looking at the pics directly. By opening the PM you agree not to be offended :crazy1:

Hi Hung - Great to hear from you. I'm excited to see how the corals are doing. How does the ORA Plum Crazy look these days?

I promise to get some good macros this weekend. I think its safe to say 99.9% of reefers are good folks. Most people are passionate and love to meet people in the hobby. Sometimes you come across a reefer so bad, it makes you rethink having people over to see the tank. I am becoming more open to having some reefers open though. Some folks just want to learn and see the SPS. I just have to be more careful now.

As for the LFS, they are really reluctant to purchase SPS. Their high end frag this weekend was rainbow monti. I was told they dont have the market for SPS frags.

:) Thank you for understanding. I read your post during my lunch break today and had an idea. Once a quarter, I may ask the SPS community to nominate a couple reefers that have been negatively impacted by factors beyond their control. A massive storm. A baseball through the window. A sever illness. Drug fumes from meth cooking neighbors. It could be anything. I could set up a poll for the community to vote on. The winner (probably not the right word) would receive a large pack of replacement SPS corals from me.

You got it Danny.

Hey Matt - I got home a little late tonight. I will get you and allmost some nice pics this weekend. I have two Oregon Torts. One I purchased originally as ORA Oregon Tort. It originally had some green hues to the base. Now it is a solid blue. I called ORA and they stated it can develop some green. I've been told it is ORA Oregon Tort and I've been told it isn't ORA Oregon Tort. The other Oregon Tort is from JimC. This is the True Oregon Tort. Both are very VERY nice. I also have some new corals in. I wanted to see what I could do with the coloration of some high end frags. I think you will be happy with those pics when they are happy.

good call mods!!!!!
I agree 1000%! Hopefully we can keep this thread drama free.

Lol, I can tell u I personally saw the garden and when James was sleeping i put a little RIP tombstone in the garden and gave the sps their final rites! It was a big pile before this, I'm running out of tombstones!
